Course Overview
The Faldo Stadium Course at Mission Hills Golf Club was opened in 1999 and is today widely regarded as one of the very finest golf courses in Asia. The course has received international acclaim and is the home of the ‘Faldo Series Asia’ – Sir Nick Faldo’s own youth development program that aims to identify and nurture the next generation of Asian golfing champions.
I’m very proud of the recognition that this course has received, particularly considering the fact that there are so many other great designers here at Mission Hills, the biggest golf club in the world. We were asked to design a course that would offer a fair but demanding golfing challenge at a championship level and I feel that we have definitely delivered that. I even think it would be fair to say that our vision for Mission Hills has created China’s answer to the famous TPC at Sawgrass in Florida. The setting here is inspiring; the course has been carved from the rugged mountains that surround the site on all sides. It has a dramatic atmosphere reminiscent of the classic amphitheaters that have inspired the Faldo Stadium Course’s name.
